Testimonials

Dear Pam and Ken:

The thirteen who sailed ‘Summer Breeze’ and ‘Sicilia’ last week have told me that these two boats were the best boats The Sailing Club has chartered. They were impeccably maintained and prepared. Our people had a wonderful week and we thank you and your staff for your participation in that. Actually, coming from the people we had on the Lake Huron Trip, this is a high compliment indeed. As you know The Sailing Club charters about ten times a year - in various places around the world. The people on these two boats have chartered, in addition to our “home waters” on Chesapeake Bay, out of places such as the Virgin Islands, the Seychelles, Holland, Australia, Tahiti, San Francisco, Florida, Puerto Rico and Vancouver, B.C.. Your staff were very pleasant and easy to work with. They were thorough in seeing us off in fully equipped, sparkling clean boats that were in excellent mechanical shape.
I will be sending our webmaster an illustrated report of this trip which can be found at our website www.thesailingclub.org

Thanks to you all. Best to you both.

Our group has chartered over 100 boats with CYC, dating back 15 years.  We love the company as their boats are always squeaky-clean, fully functional and up to date with technology. Ken and Pam always have a full crew ready to launch and receive our large group and typically bend over backwards to make our week special.  As a result, we’ve been able to run several thousand students through the enchanted waters of the north channel - the premier fresh water cruising grounds in the world.

Dear Ken and Pam,

Our sailing club was among the fortunate ones to sail with Canadian Yacht Charters in 2009.  We are a group of singles from Annapolis, Maryland and we love our Chesapeake Bay!  Our sailing club sails almost every weekend from April through November, but we also enjoy trying new sailing locales around the globe.  I convinced about 45 of my friends to sample sailing on the fresh water Great Lakes.

We traveled to Gore Bay in August, when it’s plenty warm in this area.  We were met with pristine boats, friendly folks and absolutely incredible scenery.  Your team, Ken and Pam, couldn’t have been more accommodating.  Thank you for arranging the fish fry on the first night when we all straggled in from our drives/flights!  A great way to kick off a fun week!  We had a little bit of everything weather-wise but everyone enjoyed the trip.  The Pool, especially, was a highlight of the sailing week.  Thanks for that tip. This fall we had a party to gather our Lake Huron sailors and show our pictures on the big screen.  Unbelievable!  Lots of laughs, sighs and promises to go back someday.  Whenever we see one another through the activities of the club, someone will bring up the trip and all the fun we had. I don’t think you have seen the last of the crazy Singles on Sailboats from the Chesapeake Bay!

Sincerely,

Carole J.

Singles on Sailboats

Since I first chartered with CYC in 1982 I have been back twenty-eight times.  CYC’s boats are always superbly well-equipped and maintained.  They have never let me down.  To cruise the North Channel all you need is leave from the  ‘Gitchie Manitou’ and one of CYC’s yachts.

I would never dream of chartering with anyone else.

Bruce and I have been chartering sailboats from CYC since 1994.  In the early years our children were school age and we would sail a 30 ft boat as a family; in the more recent years, we have sailed with one or two couples - last year on a 42 ft boat with three cabins.

The waters and islands accessible from Gore Bay are beautiful, remote and protected.  At times there are no other boats around.

CYC boats are always clean, well-equipped and the service is great.  There is always a personal touch from Ken and Pam.

Thanks for many great holidays.

Dear Ken & Pam,

I wanted to take a moment and compliment you on what a fabulous job you do running CYC.  Your staff at CYC is polite, courteous, helpful and informative.  Together you do a fantastic job maintaining & managing your fleet. This is my 8th year of sailing the North Channel as part of the crew (co-captain & navigator) with Dr. Matz.  As you know this year we sailed on “Sicilia”.  The boat was magnificent and we had a great time - just not long enough!  “Sicilia” was a dream boat - it had everything you could ask for and more. Please pass along my “thanks” to your wonderful staff.
Have a great rest of the season and see you next year. Happy Sailing,

We have been yacht owners with CYC since 1980 through their Yacht Management Program.  To our mind, the most important issue in the charter business is the quality of maintenance of the yacht. CYC has always exceeded our expectations in this area.  Their attention to detail is also the reason, we believe, that people return again & again to charter our yachts.  Of course it helps when you have yachts in one of the finest cruising areas in the world.

The staff at CYC are passionate about making charter clients and yacht owners happy with their boating experience.

My experience as a yacht owner in the CYC fleet for ten years has been both personally and financially rewarding.  CYC takes meticulous care of the yachts in their fleet as if they were their own.  Their helpful staff, impeccable maintenance/safety record, and cleanliness of the yachts are second to none in the industry.  As a professional Charter Captain, it is always gratifying to skipper yachts for CYC knowing the vessels are safe and seaworthy at all times.

Dear Pam & Ken:

Many thanks!  We really enjoyed our short cruise around the North Channel last week.  It certainly has me thinking - why own a yacht when one can charter a well-equipped yacht from CYC?  Starting to think of next year already.

Again, thanks!

A heartfelt thank you to all past clients, colleagues, fellow boaters and staff for almost 40 years of memories of yacht chartering in the North Channel. You will be missed.
